When we look up at the night sky, modern science tells us that nearly 95% of the universe is invisible. It is composed of mysterious entities to which we have given haunting names: Black Holes, Dark Matter, and Dark Energy. They are the three great ghosts that haunt cosmology, the blank spots on the map where our familiar laws seem to no longer apply.
But are they really new entities, strange types of matter and energy? Or are they simply shadows cast by the narrow beam of our own theoretical lantern? With the lens of a plasma universe, an electromagnetic universe, let’s re-examine these three ghosts. Perhaps they are not monsters, but merely misunderstandings.
1. Reinterpreting the Black Hole: The Calm Eye of the Storm
In the standard gravitational model, a Black Hole is a monster of collapse. It is a singularity of infinite density, a place where spacetime is warped to the extreme, a bottomless well that sucks everything in, including light.

But in the “plasma vortex” model we have discussed, the role of the galactic center changes completely. It is not an active agent that sucks in matter, but a passive result of the energy flow itself.
Think of the eye of a hurricane. It is the calmest, clearest region, with the lowest pressure, formed naturally by the frantic motion of the surrounding clouds. The eye does not “suck” the storm in. The storm creates the eye.
Similarly, the Black Hole at the center of a galaxy may not be a collapsing singularity. It could be the “eye of the storm” of the great plasma vortex. It is not the hottest and densest place. On the contrary, it could be an energetically calm and cold region. The density of celestial bodies in this central region may not be significantly different from neighboring areas, but because they are not caught in the intense plasma flow, they are not “activated” to shine.
Stars and matter are not “sucked” into it, but are swept around it at incredible speeds by the vortex’s flow. It is the friction and acceleration of matter at the edge of this eye that create the brilliant accretion disks and the jets of energy that we observe and attribute to the Black Hole.
Thus, the Black Hole is no longer a monster. It is the calm center of a great cosmic dance of energy.
2. Reinterpreting Dark Matter: A Forgotten Force
As we have analyzed, the “dark matter effect”—the phenomenon of stars at the galaxy’s edge rotating too fast—is one of the biggest puzzles. The standard model solves it by adding a new, invisible type of particle.
But in the plasma universe model, the answer is much simpler: we don’t need a new type of matter; we just need to remember a force we have overlooked.
The “dark matter effect” is simply the manifestation of plasma dynamics that the purely gravitational model has yet to grasp. The electromagnetic force, which is billions upon billions of times stronger than gravity, plays a dominant role in shaping and maintaining the structure of the galaxy. Invisible magnetic field “strings” compel the stars to move along with the general flow of the vortex.
In other words, there is no mysterious particle. The necessary force to hold the stars is already there, but it is not the gravitational force from something invisible, but the electromagnetic force from the visible structure of the galaxy itself. “Dark Matter” is not a new particle to be found. It is just a name we have given to the deficiency in our own model.
3. A Supplementary Hypothesis: Dark Matter is Matter with its “Lights Off”
Besides a misinterpretation of force, there is another possibility that complements the answer to dark matter, a possibility we speculated on in the previous chapter.
This hypothesis suggests that a significant portion of “dark matter” could simply be the ordinary matter we already know—brown dwarfs, rogue planets, cold gas clouds—but in a low-energy, non-luminous state.
If the luminosity of a celestial body depends on the combination of its mass, composition, and velocity within the galaxy’s energy flow, then the universe must be filled with “unactivated” or “lights-off” celestial bodies. They still have mass, they still have gravity, but they are completely invisible to optical telescopes.
Thus, the mystery of “dark matter” could be a combination of two factors: a misunderstanding of force (overlooking the role of electromagnetism), and an underestimation of the amount of normal matter that exists in darkness.
4. Reinterpreting Dark Energy: The Conversation Between Galaxies
If dark matter is the mysterious pulling force, then dark energy is the mysterious pushing force. Observations show that the expansion of the universe is not slowing down due to gravity, but is actually accelerating. To explain this, the standard model once again had to introduce a new entity: “dark energy,” an intrinsic energy of space itself that acts as an “anti-gravity.”
But in the Plasma Universe model, we have another explanation, one that doesn’t require a mysterious new energy. Recall the image of the universe as a vast network of plasma “filaments” connecting clusters of galaxies.
In electromagnetism, it is known that parallel electric currents can attract or repel each other depending on their direction. The accelerating expansion of the universe might not need a mysterious “dark energy,” but could be the manifestation of extremely large-scale electromagnetic forces between these galactic filaments themselves.
If, on the largest scales, the electromagnetic repulsion between these grand structures overcomes gravitational attraction, then an accelerating expansion of the universe is a natural consequence. Once again, this is not a new type of energy, but simply the cosmic-scale manifestation of a force we already know very well.
5. “Dark” Means “I Don’t Understand”
When we step back and look at all three of these great mysteries, a common pattern emerges.
In each case—Black Holes, Dark Matter, Dark Energy—the standard gravitational model observed a phenomenon it could not explain. And in each case, its solution was to invent a new, invisible, and strange entity: a singularity, a new particle, a new energy.
But when we change our lens, viewing the universe as an electromagnetic system, all three of these mysteries seem to be naturally explained by known laws of physics.
This reveals a profound truth. “Dark” in physics is not actually an adjective describing the nature of a thing. It is a confession. “Dark matter” is the polite way of saying “the matter that we do not understand.” “Dark energy” is the polite way of saying “the energy that we do not understand.”
“Dark” means “we don’t understand.” It is not an entity that exists out there in the universe. It is a boundary that exists right here, within our own perception.
